Benefits of Starting Laser Hair Removal in the Fall

After considering all of the benefits that come from laser hair removal, it is very likely that you have decided that you would like to give it a try. When you use laser hair removal, you can say goodbye to razors, tweezers, wax kits and other means that you use to get rid of unwanted hair. Even though this is not a completely permanent process, it is a long-lasting process that can actually completely get rid of some of the hair on your body. So you may be asking yourself, “When is the best time of year for me to begin laser hair removal treatment?”

There are several benefits that come from getting laser hair removal in the Fall. One of the main reasons why it is so beneficial is because most individuals wear pants or other clothing that can help cover up the areas that are getting ready for treatment or that have been treated.

When it starts to get cold outside during the Fall months, you are more likely to wear sweaters, scarves, hats and boots. This will allow you to grow out the hair that you will eventually have treated without being embarrassed. During the Summer months, you likely want to wear shorter skirts. So the need to grow out the hair during those months would be awkward and embarrassing. You would either have to show off all the hair on your legs or the other areas you would like to have treated, or you would have to wear uncomfortable, warm clothing during the Summer months.

While you are letting your hair grow out, it is important to not pluck the hair. In some circumstances, it is okay to shave the hair, but plucking or removing the hair will not allow us to target the hair follicle during treatment. The laser light focuses on the hair follicle, and so it needs to be intact before treatment.

After laser hair removal treatment, you may have some redness or a little bit of swelling in the area that was treated. If you do your laser hair removal treatments during the Fall, this is very easy to cover up during the healing process. However, you should know that for the most part, the treatment is not that uncomfortable. Most individuals describe the laser hair removal process as the same sensation they have felt when rubber bands snap against their skin.

Another benefit of starting laser hair removal in the Fall is that your legs or the other parts of your body that you will have treated will be ready to be shown off to the world when Spring and Summer come around. Most individuals need to come to our office for several sessions to have the best results. These sessions are usually scheduled a couple of weeks apart. So if you begin during the first weeks of Fall, by the time Winter has passed and the warm weather starts up again, you will be ready to wear shorts, bathing suits and other more revealing clothing.
