Can Ultherapy Work for Me?

If you would like to reverse the signs of aging that are present on your skin but you want to make sure the method you choose is safe, you should consider Ultherapy®. This treatment uses ultrasound energy to bring about positive results.

Lines and wrinkles tend to form when the amount of collagen that is present in the lower layers of the skin starts to decrease. Collagen is a protein that helps tissue to stick together. It also gives fullness to the skin. This keeps it tight and free from wrinkles. As the years begin to add up, the body does not produce as much collagen as it did in the past. Less collagen means the skin loses tightness and fullness, and it will become loose and start to sag. Wrinkles will naturally develop as a result.

The key to tightening the skin via a non-surgical method is to find a way to increase the collagen level in the skin. Since it is not something that can be synthetically manufactured and injected into the skin, the body must be stimulated to grow more collagen on its own. This is when Ultherapy® is beneficial. The warming effect that is produced by the energy from the treatment will cause the skin to start producing additional collagen. Consequently, the level of the substance will return to a level that restores tightness to the skin, and the wrinkles will fade.

Ultherapy® is both safe and effective. If you have ever had an ultrasound done for imaging or diagnostic purposes, you have been exposed to the same energy that is used for Ultherapy®. When used for imaging, the sound waves that are emitted will bounce off different types of tissue at rates that vary. The computer uses this data to convert it to an image that is displayed on a screen. Ultrasound is also used at times by therapists to provide pain relief by relaxing the muscles. It provides a gentle warming of the tissue, causing the muscles to become less tense. The same type of energy is used for skin tightening with Ultherapy®.

If you are looking for a way to tighten the skin but you don’t want to go with something like a surgical facelift, you should look into Ultherapy® at Metro Dermatology.
