Fight Infection from the Inside Out with Immunotherapy

Bacteria and viruses are everywhere. They’re in our food, our water, and even in the air we breathe. The reason we do not get sick is due to our immune system. It works to destroy harmful pathogens before they have a chance to infect our bodies.

Our immune system, however, is not flawless. Age, health conditions and many other factors can contribute to a diminished immune response. This results in longer bouts of sickness as our bodies try to repel those invaders.

Immunotherapy can strengthen our body’s natural ability to remove harmful invaders from our body. Let’s delve into how this works, and why it can improve your body’s ability to remove pathogens before they can cause damage.

Faults in the Immune System

Our immune system is designed to rapidly destroy invaders before they can take residency in our bodies. This is what makes more infectious pathogens relatively harmless, and why we do not continually get sick.

There are many reasons that our immune systems begin to dull, which include:

  • Fewer Leukocytes – Leukocytes, known more commonly as white blood cells, seek and destroy infectious diseases. When these cells are too few, infectious invaders can take hold within your body.
  • Lack of B Cells and Antibodies – B lymphocytes produce antigens that help to mark known invaders within the body. They prevent repeat infections from the same and similar diseases by hastening the immune response.
  • Lowered Dendritic Cells – Dendritic cells are a crucial part of the immune response. They activate T cells, which are the back bone of fighting active infections.
  • Weakened T Cell Responses – If any chain in the immune response is broken, the response of T cells will be delayed. This means that infections will be harder to fight, progress further, and last longer than they should.

By correcting these problems, the immune system can be strengthened.

How Immunotherapy Improves the Immune Response

There are multiple parts to immunotherapy. It is designed to improve the overall response of the immune system by:

  • Introducing certain markers for known bacteria and viruses.
  • Facilitating the production of immune system cells.
  • Improving the speed of the immune response.
  • Producing more lymphocytes for the body to fight infections.

There are many ways to accomplish this overall strengthening of the immune response. The easiest to understand is by changing the diet and exercise of a patient.
This can allow the immune system to strengthen itself by providing the necessary nutrients and hormones required to create more cells. This heightens the immune response, allowing for infections to be defeated before they can become active within the body.

Another way to increase the immune response with immunotherapy is through the use of natural antibiotics. These are supplements and minerals that naturally interfere with the reproduction of infectious diseases, which in turn gives the immune system more time to respond.

Interleukins are one type of medicine that can help the body create more leukocytes. These chemicals act as markers that help the body to produce significantly more cells that defeat bacteria and other foreign bodies.

Immunotherapy: Keeping You Healthier by Strengthening Your Immune System

While immunotherapy will not prevent you from ever getting sick again, it can significantly boost your immune system’s capability to fight infections. A stronger immune response allows you to avoid the symptoms of common diseases while strengthening your body to be able to better fight active infections.
