Fight Signs of Aging with Ultrasound via Ultherapy

People who have longed to have anti-aging treatments done without needles or surgery have a new option: Ultherapy®. It is the only non-surgical, FDA-approved method for tightening skin and uses ultrasound energy to target skin to the same depths as surgical facelifts. Clinical studies have shown it is effective at tightening the skin on the neck, under the chin, and the chest while diminishing fine lines around the eyes and lips.

How It Works

During Ultherapy®, the ultrasound energy bypasses the skin’s surface to target heat in the deeper tissues, at depths the same as surgical facelifts reach. There are three target treatment depths: 1.5mm, 3mm, and 4.5mm, depending on which facial areas are being treated. The reaction causes heat at the same temperature scientifically proven to produce collagen. The wound healing process causes collagen to increase, which results in the tightening of skin over a period of time. Most patients see results immediately with full effects in as little as three months.

What to Expect

The Ultherapy® process typically takes less than two hours and patients are awake and comfortable during the treatment procedure. A device is applied to the skin and ultrasound energy is used to cause an increase in collagen. The effects are gradual because the collagen production is a natural way to improve the skin and it takes time to see the full results. We also use the ultrasound imaging to ensure we are administering the ultrasound energy where it is most beneficial to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Benefits Over Other Procedures

Ultherapy® is the one and only FDA-approved treatment for non-invasive skin tightening and because it bypasses the skin, there is no need for aftercare with special creams. It is a collagen-boosting treatment which naturally tightens the skin. Not only is it effective, but it is also a convenient outpatient procedure with no downtime to recover.
