Smooth Your Visible Signs of Aging with Thermage®

Aging can take a toll on our appearance. This is especially apparent in skin that is no longer taut and firm. If you’re feeling self-conscious about these kinds of issues, you’ll be glad to know there is a non-surgical treatment that can help: Thermage®.

Thermage® uses radiofrequency technology to give patients a smoother, younger-looking appearance through the reduction of sagging and loose skin.

Another aspect of this process is that it takes only one treatment, with very little recovery time, to see results. Thermage® can help to smooth your visible signs of aging in a way that is natural-looking and enhances your appearance, rather than changing it.

Commonly Treated Areas

Thermage® is a versatile treatment able to address the signs of aging in some areas. The eye area is often treated due to eyelid hooding, fine lines and sagging brow that can lead to a tired or angry appearance.

Other areas of the face and neck are also popular targets, as this is the focal point seen by the world. Loose jowls, sagging skin, lack of defined jawline and that wobbly “turkey neck” so many of us experience are aspects that can be greatly improved with Thermage®.

Age, elements, and gravity take a toll on our bodies, as well as our faces. Thermage® can treat these issues, too.

What to Expect

The radiofrequency technology of Thermage® goes below the skin’s surface to remodel the makeup of collagen, thus resulting in a range of improvement to issues like the smoothing of wrinkles, toning of bulges and definition of facial features.

Treatments of the face can last about 45 minutes while those on areas of the body can last approximately 90 minutes.

Noticeable results are usually achieved in just one treatment. It usually takes a day after your treatment to see and feel a difference.

However, you’ll continue to see improvements in contouring and smoothing as collagen is regenerated in the area over the next six months.

There may be slight discomfort during the procedure itself. Cooling bursts can be given and adjusted accordingly to balance the heat given off by the radiofrequency.

Safety Information

Thermage® should not be performed on patients who have a cardiac pacemaker or other such medical implanted device. A temporary tingling or numbing sensation of the treated area are also possible side effects.

Thermage® is a relatively safe and proven procedure that can produce dramatic results in the firmness, tone, and contour of skin. With just one treatment and no downtime, you’ll see a younger-looking you. Contact Metro Dermatology today to schedule your appointment.
