Juvederm – What Other Treatments Can It Be Combined With?

At Metro Dermatology, we specialize in complete facial rejuvenation.  Facial rejuvenation may combine two or more procedures to provide maximum aesthetic results.  Our patients are often curious about what treatment(s) can complement their Juvederm fillers.  There is an added benefit when wrinkles can be reduced while the plumpness of the skin and texture is also improved with other therapies.

Laser Treatments

One of our most recommended combinations for patients is Juvederm and laser treatment.  The treatments can be used together because the majority of laser treatments available are not deeply penetrative enough to affect Juvederm® fillers post-injection.

While the treatments do produce amazing results when used together, a one to two-week break between each treatment is oftentimes recommended for optimal results.  Often the laser treatment is done first, followed by the dermal filler.  We may recommend that order of treatment because laser resurfacing will increase collagen production and tighten the skin.  The placement and amount of filler needed will change based on the improvements the laser treatment promotes.

If you have already had a Juvederm ultra 3 treatment and would like to further refine your skin’s appearance with laser therapy, the resurfacing can be administered safely.  However, the same approach of spacing treatments out one to two weeks apart applies.   Of course, all the options available to you will be discussed during your consultation.

BOTOX®

Another combination for optimal facial rejuvenation is a Juvederm ultra 3 treatment and BOTOX®. You could even preface those treatments with laser resurfacing or another treatment, depending on the situation.  More invasive forms of aesthetic enhancement can be used in combination with dermal fillers, too.

Ultimately, whatever combination you choose will be based on your goals, needs, and the advice of one of our professionals.  Being open about your goals and listening carefully to what the realistic expectations of each treatment are will ensure you will be satisfied with your results.  The goal is to strategically choose the treatments that will best enhance and improve your appearance.  Speak with the experts at Metro Dermatology to learn more. Contact us today to schedule your initial consultation at our office in Flushing, Englewood, Elmhurst, or the Bronx!
