For men and women who have chronic skin conditions such as inflammation and Vitiligo, finding a reliable solution to control your symptoms can be tricky. At Metro Dermatology, we understand that many of our patients want to rejuvenate their skin from the inside out without invasive treatments or surgery, and we’re happy to offer phototherapy at our multiple locations in New York. Phototherapy utilizes a narrow band of ultraviolet radiation to rejuvenate the skin without exposing it to harsher frequencies that could end up damaging the skin even further.
If minimally invasive skin rejuvenation has been on your list of cosmetic wants, contact us with whatever questions you have about Phototherapy. We hope that it can be the solution to your skin concerns.
What’s Phototherapy?
Phototherapy is a minimally invasive treatment that uses narrowband ultraviolet radiation to rejuvenate the skin. The sun exposes you to a much broader range of ultraviolet frequencies than Phototherapy does. With Phototherapy, we’re isolating the most advantageous frequencies for the skin, which makes it much different than getting into a tanning bed.
At our practice, we offer full body treatments as well as treatments just for the hands or feet. This is an outpatient procedure that doesn’t require daily maintenance, but multiple treatment sessions will still be needed to achieve the best results. The amount of sessions will depend on the individual being treated and their specific needs.
What Can Phototherapy Do For Me?
Phototherapy can treat a variety of conditions that affect the skin, some of these include:
- Itchiness
- Vitamin D Deficiencies
- Inflammation
- Wrinkles
- Vitiligo
- Atopic Dermatitis
Am I Good Candidate For Phototherapy?
If you have a condition that is photoresponsive and cannot be addressed through topical solutions like creams and ointments, you’ll likely be a good candidate for Phototherapy. However, to confirm your candidacy, you’ll need to schedule and attend a consultation appointment with one of our practitioners. At your appointment, you’ll discuss your health and medical history so they can review them. If they find out that Phototherapy isn’t a suitable option for you as a patient, alternatives will be discussed.
The first step to getting a consultation is contacting us in New York and asking us about Phototherapy. So give us a call and find out if Phototherapy could be the skin rejuvenating solution for you.
