Thermage® for Nonsurgical Skin Tightening

Until mankind is able to find the permanent fountain of youth, everyone must deal with aging. In addition to the effects that aging has on a person’s appearance, it also affects the way that a person feels. Looking in the mirror and seeing wrinkles and sagging skin can have a negative impact on a person’s self-image.

Thermage® is a state-of-the-art technology that has proven itself effective at addressing some of the telltale signs of aging. This unique procedure utilizes radio frequencies to improve the way sagging skin looks and feels. It leaves a person with smoother skin, which makes them feel younger and more vibrant. Thermage® is so effective that patients can see the results with just one treatment.

Areas That Can Be Treated with Thermage®

Thermage® has been used to effectively treat areas around the eyes. It is used on a person’s brow line, upper and lower eyelids, and can be used to combat hooding. When used around the eyes, it makes a person look rested and youthful.

When the procedure is used on a person’s face, it addresses the loose skin a person has around their face that leads to what some people refer to as “turkey neck.” It will smooth facial wrinkles and encourages collagen production, leading to healthier skin.

Thermage® can be used in other parts of the body besides the face. Aside from temporarily improving the appearance of cellulite, it can be used on just about any part of the body that has unwanted bulges, sags, or dimples.

How Does Thermage® Work?

This radio frequency treatment works by addressing surface skin imperfections by treating the skin below the surface. It remodels the collagen in a person’s skin in a focused and effective way that produces a smoother, more youthful appearance.

It uses a combination of heat and energy as it treats and repairs deep tissue. The cooling effect of the product soothes the surface skin and allows the treatment to be performed with minimal patient discomfort.

Next, as the vibrations continue, radio frequencies will affect the deeper tissue in the skin, heating the areas that need treating and causing the collagen in those areas to remodel. Finally, cryogenic is used to once again cool the external surface of the skin.

Treatment time can vary depending on the part of the body that is being treated. Most patients will see the results in as little as one day after they receive treatments. Patient should expect to continue to see improvements in their appearance for several months.
